Part-Time English & Maths Teachers Required
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Part-Time Teachers for The After-School Learning Centre located in Cockfosters, North London (within 5 minutes walking distance of the underground station).

The After-School Learning Centre caters for children aged 5 – 16 years of all ability levels, including high-achievers/gifted and children who may require extra assistance.

We offer instruction in reading, study skills, writing and Maths as well as SATs/Entrance Exam preparation for children. We complement and enhance the work children undertake at school - all teaching is focused on the National Curriculum syllabus. 

Parents send their children to The After-School Learning Centre in order to achieve real improvements in school grades and/or to ensure grades A* – C in GCSE English and Maths. 

Our teachers work on an individual basis, thereby helping students achieve tremendous progress in a relatively short period of time.

We are open from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday.

 
We need PGCE / B’Ed qualified teachers (or overseas equivalent), experienced in the following areas:
  • Secondary School English
  • Secondary School Maths
  • Primary School teachers experienced in teaching English & Maths

Requirements

  • PGCE / B’Ed degree in education or related field (or overseas equivalent)

  • Teachers experienced in coaching children for verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests are especially encouraged to apply as some of our parents want to get their children into select schools where children are required to sit entrance exams

  • Excellent student interaction skills in small groups and 1-to-1 settings

  • Please state whether you are retired, newly qualified or actively teaching full or part-time

  • DfES number (applicable for UK Qualified Teacher Status only)

  • Available to work at least 2-3 days (after-school and/or day) per week, including Saturdays

  • CRB checked

  • References x 2 (requested after position is offered to successful candidate)

  • Overseas teacher qualifications acceptable provided the candidate has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the British educational system (National Curriculum)
