Click Here to read 'The Raven'The After-School Learning Centre will support your child’s reading, writing, comprehension, spelling and grammar requirements. English is taught under the guidelines of the National Curriculum for Years 1-11.

The After-School Learning Centre will structure the material taught to accommodate the LEVEL at which your child  is working, rather than base the work on your child’s age. The most appropriate level for your child will be decided after an initial assessment period.

  

Exams

 

Throughout Years 10 and 11, we can support your child’s GCSE Exam requirements. Charlotte Bronte best known for Jane Eyre
Past papers and specific texts will form the major part of GCSE teaching at The After-School Learning Centre. 

English is taught for Exam Purposes as:

  • English Language

  • English Literature

  • English (including Language & Literature)

GCSE English is taught and examined at only two Levels:

  • ‘Foundation’ up to Grade ‘C’

  • ‘Higher’ up to Grade ‘A’ / ‘A*’
